Introduction |
Sprex has built Speech Forms systems including a speech-based data entry system for traffic tickets. ANSR enables high accuracies and speaker independence, thus an immediate sense of success in using Speech Forms. Sprex is available for development projects in which we deliver custom forms-based or otherwise domain-constrained PDA+internet based speech applications. We have built a working prototype of the following scenario. A police officer holds a PDA displaying a form, which is the data entry interface for a traffic ticket. The form has several open slots for violator's driver's license number, home zip code, city, street address, car make, model and year, officer's badge number, violation number, and penalty amount, and so on. The officer holds the PDA at a reading distance, closer if traffic is going by at that moment. He touches the screen with a finger on one of the form elements, and says out loud, "1996 Toyota Camry XLE", taps the screen again and reads out loud the violator's driver's license number, taps it again and says "Exceeding posted speed limits, clocked at 85 miles per hour in a posted 60 miles per hour zone". The details appear in written form in the display, having been converted from speech to text using the ANSR speech recognition system with a customized application built by Sprex for his local police department. He taps the screen again, and the printed ticket emerges from a printer in the cruiser. Elapsed time: 45 seconds. Instead of the several minutes required by paper or keyboard entry methods. How profitable is your sheriff's department? Don't run a sheriff's department? Well, how profitable is your business? Efficient data entry improves the bottom line. Do your people spend a lot of time painstakingly filling out forms? Sprex consulting services can produce money-saving applications that make your staff a lot more efficient and happy in their work. Customers seeking to improve efficiency, accuracy, and profitability of enterprises that depend on data should request Sprex to customize Speech Forms systems, for voice-based data entry. Bottom-line results can be significantly improved.
